Mr. James E. West also known as “Spuddy” passed away on November 20, 2016 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Dayton, Ohio. James was born on August 22, 1961 to the late James C. and Sarah L. West in Middletown, Ohio. James moved to Dayton in 1962. James received his GED and an Associate’s Degree in Criminal Justice.

James attended Bethesda Temple Apostolic Church as a child growing up. James loved to fishing, watch movies, to watch sports, playing cards and dominoes and how we cannot ever forget his love for music.



James proceeds the death of his loving parents James C. and Sarah West and 2 brothers Johnnie R. Walker and Bobby G. Walker. He leaves in his loving memories to longtime girlfriend and partner Eva Steele his son Antwane and wife Elizabeth Day, 2 grandsons Roy and Anthony , sisters Dolores Hill of Dayton, Ohio, Sheila (Charles) Benton of Cincinnati, Ohio, Sherrilion Mack of Dayton, Ohio, Bernice English of Dayton, Ohio. Brothers James (Rhonda) Walker of Oceanside, California, and Charles (Debra) Walker of Trotwood, Ohio. And a very close and special cousin Perry Thompson Sr. A host of nephews, nieces, great nieces and nephews , great great nieces and nephews, cousins, close friends and relatives.

James will be greatly miss and cherish by those who known and loved him.
