Obituary:
Calvin Coolidge Chambers Jr, age 71 was born on August 24, 1945 in Shelby, North Carolina. He attended Mahoney Valley Technical School, where he received an education in HVAC and automotive. He worked at McCall until their closing and at Hardin Automotive as a mechanic until he retired. He was an avid car enthusiast and dreamt of building the fastest car he could. He was a great man and loving husband to his wife Michele Wilcoxson, great father, uncle, grandfather, and friend. He was mild mannered and his boyish grin, country swag and deep voice would put a smile on anyone's face. Most of all he loved all seven of his children equally and without pause he would do anything for anyone if he had it to give and was never judgmental. Calvin ascended to heaven on September 24, 2016 at Carriage Inn of Dayton under the care of Vitas Hospice.
He is preceded in death by his life partner (wife) Michele Denise Wilcoxson, parents Calvin Chambers Sr and Lucinda Tory Chambers, favorite Aunt Bessie Tory Hardin, and brothers Donald Chambers and Danny Chambers. He leaves to cherish his memory (1) son Jermaine Wilcoxson(Billiejean), (6) daughters Tonia Wilcoxson, Carla Black (Willie), Lashawn Wilcoxson, Jeanette Danley (James), Ann Wilcoxson, and Patricia Wilcoxson all of Dayton, Ohio, 29 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild (3)brothers Joseph(Anita) Chambers of Gaffney, South Carolina, Wilbert Chambers and Freddie Chambers of Shelby, North Carolina and a devoted cousin Mose Hardin (Tommie) , Samuel (Renee) Hardin, Eddie Hardin (Irene), Nellie Hardin and Julie Hardin and (1) Aunt Thelma Chambers of Shelby, North Carolina. He is loved by a host of family and friends and will be missed by all. Also special thanks to Natoria Alexander and Theresa Stephens for being there during our time of need.
