This memorial was created to honor our father, Bill (William) Santino of Newhall, California. Bill was born on October 18, 1949 in Burbank and passed unexpectedly on February 11, 2015. Bill was loved by many and will be dearly missed by all friends and family.
Our dad was adventurous. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed every bit of it. He was a pilot, scuba diver, and deep-sea fisherman. His favorite place to be was on his boat in the ocean. He enjoyed hiking, camping, kayaking, free diving and most recently loved to spend time building custom fishing rods. He also enjoyed photography and taking pictures at his grandkids' sporting events and family gatherings.
A great interest of his was treasure hunting. He had recently read several books regarding lost gold and old mines. We had an upcoming trip to go exploring in the desert near old mines as well as visit an old gold rush town. He was so excited to share treasure hunting with his grandkids and had bought a special metal detector that would be easy for them to play with. Another great love of his was his little dog, Cha Cha. He spoiled her rotten.
We would be very happy if you would share on this site a memory (no matter how simple or silly), a photo, or a story (including work stories, as those who knew him know how much self-pride he put into all projects including work). He was a much-loved dad, grandpa, brother, uncle and friend.
We are honoring our father's wishes by having a private, family memorial. Our dad would have wanted his friends and coworkers to have a laugh, eat some sushi, and tip a beer together while exchanging stories and memories.
If you wish, in lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to a local animal shelter, as our father had a soft spot for animals.
Sincerely, Shauna Santino Mullin Tina Santino Howery Billy Santino Jr.
