Dave was a kind man with the soul of a true artist. He loved life, and was able to capture pieces of the world around him through compelling published articles. But more than that, he was a good friend. When he lived in NJ, he painted a room with water-stained walls in my mom's apt after she died because he felt it would tarnish her memory if the apt was turned over with the blemished walls. I was too emotionally weak to do it (or to argue)...but really appreciated this major act of kindness. We also shared a love of the written word (I also am a writer) and the ability to translate different events and experiences into communications for anyone to share. He will live on through his writings but also through the memory of his caring nature.
