"There is a spirit here, that won't be broken" To know my grandmother was a wonderful thing. But to be loved by my grandmother is a gift that has touched so many people. My grandmother loved hard and well. It's what she did best. My mother sent me this song that my father used to sing loudly as he walked around my house. He and my mother used to dance to it. I think the only thing that makes this easier, is knowing my grandmother has finally gotten to dance with my father, her son, again. We love you and miss you. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H7bwWAVVCWg

Memories of Barbara…No One like HER! HER love for the Holidays, decorating every inch in a creative fashion. FASHION- Always had style & a flair that was classic but current. She could look elegant in a pair of leggings & a tunic or dressed for cocktails. COCKTAILS- Loved laughing with Barbara sipping a Mimosa on the enclosed porch overlooking the garden. GARDEN- Barbara tended to her flower garden with the same loving hands that could wipe away a Grandbaby’s tear after a fall. FALL- The Fall holds precious memories of time spent during Thanksgiving. Time to eat delicious food, give thanks and enjoy time with family. FAMILY- To my mind, Family was always Barbara’s number one priority. She cherished her family and friends. FRIENDS- Always generous with her time, energy and pocketbook to nurture her friendships through deeds and words. WORDS- I can almost hear her words right now…”Bless yer heart”…”Come give Granny some sugar”...”That’s a gracious plenty!”...” Just precious!” PRECIOUS- Barbara knew the value of everything from her precious stones (now come on, we know she loved jewelry!) to her precious people. PEOPLE- Boy, did she have a way with people! Barbara could charm a retail clerk, a waiter or a neighbor. NEIGHBOR- The kind of neighbor everyone wants. Whether a neighbor was sick or celebrating, Barbara would take pies, bring flowers or a big pot of Butter Beans. BUTTER BEANS- Unfortunately Barbara could never quite teach anyone to make Butter Beans as tasty as hers! Don’t think she used a recipe. RECIPE- Barbara’s recipe for life was a huge helping of affection, generous amounts of laughter & wit, heaping on of hugs, praise & warmth, lots of class with just a pinch of sass! Of course, filled with Faith. FAITH- Faith in God, Faith in Family and Faith in people. Faithfully yours, Crystal
