Edith was the eighth child born to Mr. Willie and Mary Green in 1937 at Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta Ga. Edith was preceded in death by her parents and all of her siblings. Edith accepted Christ at an early age and was a faithful member of Big Bethel A.M.E. Church in Atlanta, Ga. Edith graduated from Washington H.S. in Atlanta, Ga. Upon graduating from high school Edith decide to further her education at Clark University where she received her B.S. in Library Science. Edith also received her Master’s Degree in Library Science from Atlanta University. Upon accomplishing all of her educational goals, Edith met and fell in love with Jasper Sanders Jr. They were married in 1965 and to this union one son was born Eric J. Sanders Sr. Edith was employed with the Atlanta Library system from the early 70’s to the late 70’s. As a military wife of a Chief Warrant Officer in the United States Army. Edith traveled to over 7 different countries, 3 continents, 8 different Islands and visited 35 of the 50 states. She has written a biography over 150 poems and a children’s booked that was published in the 70’s. Edith and Jasper relocated to Euclid, Oh where she joined Community Christian Church . Edith was employed with the East Cleveland Schools and public library systems for 26 years until she retired. Edith was also the first female African American to be employed as a Librarian at W.H. Kirk Middle School in East Cleveland. Edith was a devoted wife to Jasper whom preceded her in death on December 27, 2004. Edith’s memories will be cherished by her son Eric (Carolyn) Sanders Sr. Two Grandchildren Eric (Elizabeth) Sanders Jr. and Eryka D. Sanders one Great grandson Ezen Jasper Sanders ,a close lifetime best friend and cousin of Jasper Ms. Betty Elias and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
