Service will be held Wednesday, December 20, 2017 at Young Lusain Funeral Home. Viewing will begin at 11:00am with service to follow at 12:00pm.


This memorial was created in honor of James Jones Smith of Dayton, Ohio. James was born on December 10, 1946 and passed on December 7, 2017. James was loved by many and will be dearly missed by all friends and family.

He was allowed share & spend the 70years of his life on this Earth. On December 7,2017 our heavenly father decided to take him home to his new mansion in the sky. He was born to Ruth Jones and Charles Smith Sr. On December 10,1946. I He graduated from Roosevelt High School and attended Sinclair Community College. He served as a Marine in Vietnam War. He accepted God as his personal saviour at Mount Calvary Missionary Baptist Church. He also attached Mount Enon Baptist Church. He worked at Kuntz Factory Co., General Motors,Dayton Steele and Finally as a Master Construction Worker, Member of Dayton,OH IUE-CWA Labor Union.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Ruth Jones and Charles Smith Sr., Brothers: Rodney Smith and Sanders Smith (Jackie), Sisters: Sheila Smith and Linda Smith and several aunts and uncles.
He fathered four children and have eighteen grandkids: James Lamar Smith (Emily) children include: Ashley, Sydney, Brianna and Victor. Joseph Ricardo Madison (Taffy) children include: Arriane, Joshua, Kenyatta, Qino, Torey, Rianna, Eli, and Joseph Madison Jr., Sential Shaleeta White children include: Darnell S. Beans Jr., ShaToy'a J. White, Shawn T. Phillips Jr., Serenity N. White all of Dayton,OH.
Raphael Peterson (Breeana) children include: Raphael Peterson Jr. and Rozlyn Danae Peterson of Temecula,CA.
Sibilings left to pass on the legacy: Charles Smith Jr. of Lancaster, OH., David Peak of Cincinnati,OH., Barbara (Khari) Merritt of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Danessa (Joseph) Peak Okorare, Charlene Peak both of Anderson,Indiana. Sister in-law: Elaine (Jackie) Smith. Special Niece: Martha Moore. Long Life Friends: Joyce Nettles and Bea Page. Ex- Life Partner: Mary Foster. And a host of nieces and nephews and extended family.
