This memorial was created in honor of Christopher "DJ Big Dose" Thorne of Roanoke, Virginia.

Christopher Thorne, a radio personality and promotions director at The Vibe (WVBE-FM, 100.1/97.7, 610 AM).

Thorne, who also went by Nigel Christopher, hosted a midday show as “DJ Big Dose.” Born on May 29, 1969, in Brooklyn, New York, he became interested in radio after watching his cousins perform turntable tricks, according to his Facebook page.

In 1989, Thorne began working at a community radio station in Atlanta. He later worked at WBHH in Norfolk, which was the first East Coast all hip-hop station. He joined The Vibe, which serves the Roanoke-Lynchburg market, on Oct. 22, 2012.

Dose was loved by many and will be dearly missed by all friends and family.

Rest in peace DJ Big Dose. The area has lost a wonderful dj. when you were in the tidewater area, we use to follow you everywhere you go to give you love and support. But then you became a favorite DJ because you would spin the ole school music. I pray for strength for your family and especially your mom, such a lovely lady, met her on the cruise. Your music and that crazy laugh will be in my heart forever.
