In Loving Memory of Damien M. Mason (January 5, 1991 - June 6, 2023)
Damien was a gentle and radiant soul who graced our lives with his kind-hearted spirit, keen intellect, and warm compassion. Born in Tucson, Arizona, on January 5th, 1991, and having spent most of his vibrant life in Wichita Falls, Texas, Damien touched many lives with his unique blend of kindness and creativity.
Taken too soon, Damien will be remembered as a devoted husband to Sunny Nason, a loving son, a cherished brother, and a beloved uncle. Damien's love knew no bounds. He was a steadfast lighthouse in the storm, always there with a listening ear, a word of encouragement, or a comforting shoulder to lean on. His passion for people was unmistakable; he delighted in discussing the possibilities of the 'what ifs' and reveled in the depth of human connection.
A true champion of creativity, Damien had a fervent passion for technology, video games, and all things fantasy. His love for writing and crafting worlds of his own was nothing short of inspiring. His imaginative spirit found expression in the creation of an intricate Dungeons & Dragons campaign and a unique fantasy computer game, projects that showcased his profound talent. Damien also penned two novels, works that, despite remaining unpublished, were richly imaginative and deeply cherished by those fortunate enough to share in his literary world.
Fond memories of competing in video games with Damien are treasured, as are the evenings when he would read chapters of his novel to an enchanted audience of family members. He was always ready to step out of his comfort zone, embarking on outdoor adventures that his father encouraged, bringing his unique spark of joy to camping and fishing trips.
To know Damien was to witness the embodiment of genuine kindness and empathy. He navigated life with an unwavering gentleness that has left an indelible mark on the hearts of all who had the privilege to know him.
Today, we bid farewell to a remarkable individual whose light has been extinguished far too soon. The world may seem a bit darker without the luminous spirit of Damien in it, but his memory will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. We take solace in the memories we shared, the laughter, the stories, and the love that will forever link us to Damien.
