There are people in this world that are truly unique. Pete was one of them. We had so many great times together, so many great laughs. We shared so many awesome ideas, and talked for hours about comics, movies and writing. Words cannot fully express how grateful I am to have called him a friend, and the immense sorrow I feel now that he is gone. Pete, your candle will forever shine, you are missed. RIP my brother.

I just wanted to give my condolences and a comforting scripture. John 5:28 reads- 'Do not marvel at this, because the hour is coming in which those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out.' This speaks of a resurrection of our dead loved ones. You and the family will be in my prayers. For even more comforting information, please visit jw.org

I met Pete years ago on FB and I was a fan of his drawings, and it wouldn't be until I produced Space Coast Comixx, that I finally got to work with Pete, he created awesome covers, and eventually he had submitted several of his stories to my publication. Pete was truly a helpful caring guy. In the end he was even here for me when my infant son died. He would call me to make sure i was okay during two hurricanes here in Florida. Ultimately it hurt and sadden to hear the news. My first thought was like man, I'll never talk to this guy again. I felt so bad for the family, but his legacy will live on. This much I know.

I got chatting to Pete via Facebook when he mentioned he was writing a graphic novel, War Dogs. My Mom was game for it, and we sent Pete some fun pics for his novel. During the course of Pete's "drafting", my Mom unexpectedly died and Pete wrote a touching tribute for her. I will never forget this Pedro.

I first got to know Pete via Facebook where he messaged me regarding a graphic novel idea he had. It was not long before we progressed from the first initial messages to having phone conversations that would last hours. I truly appreciated him for his friendship, his honesty, his guidance, his inspiration and of course, his craft. Pete had this amazing way with his artwork that would capture someone's essence so perfectly and accurately. I can remember times where I would see someone just staring at this image that Pete had drawn of him. The first time Pete drew me to the very last time, you could tell that he just knew me so well. I always trusted him and knew that he always had my back. For many, Pete was always there for them and had the biggest heart in the world. I remember being so excited at the airport, waiting to pick him up and meeting him was both unbelievable and also the most normal of times. It was just like seeing a relative I hadn't seen in a while. It was truly an honour to have spent so much time with him and even more so now, I really cherish that time, especially not knowing that it would be the last time. With Pete all the way in New York, I always felt at ease knowing that somebody out there was doing right by someone else. He touched so many people most of which never got the chance to meet him. I am heartbroken that the world has lost such a phenomenal artist and will miss him dearly. Sending his family and anyone reading this my love. Brother, it has been an honour. Proud to know you and proud to be one of your War Dogs. I wish you all the best for the next part of your journey. Thank you for being such a wonderful part of mine. <3

Death is the hardest thing we have to dealwith in life. I know words can do little to take away the pain you are feeling so may the God of comfort be with your family helping you to cope. Lean on Him in the days to come and take heart in Psalms 147:3. It reads He heals the brokenhearted; He binds up their wounds. My deepest sympathy. Jehovah can change your sorrow into joy by means of a resurrection. To benefit from his glorious prospect, obey the psalmist’s exhortation. "Search for Jehovah and his strength. Seek his face constantly. Remember his wonderful works that he has performed, his miracles." What will be the immediate result if you "Search for Jehovah"? You will receive strength through prayer to God.

My heart goes out to you and your family Pete, we never really had the opportunity to get to know one another but from our brief exchanges, I know you were a kind hearted and giving human being who wore his heart on his sleeve. You're an artist who inspires me and many others and I have no doubt that your art will continue to inspire many in the years to come.

My heartfelt condolences to the family. I am so sorry for your loss. May you find comfort through the loving memories of your dear loved one,Pete. May you also look to our loving Heavenly Father, the God of all comfort, to provide what you need at this very sad time. (2 Corinthians 1:3,4, Psalms 83:18). He promises us that very soon, "He will wipe every tear from our eyes and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away." Revelation 21:3,4, Isaiah 33:24. He also promises us that there will be a resurrection of the righteous ones so they will have the opportunity to live forever in perfect health in Paradise right here on earth. (John 5:28,29, Psalms 37:10,11). What wonderful promises! Can you imagine a time on earth when there will be no more sickness, pain or death? May all of God's promises give you a measure of comfort, peace, hope and strength. I have personally found very comforting thoughts on jw.org.
