This memorial was created in honor of Arnoldo J Jiron.

Arnoldo Jose Jiron Toruño, age 69, died of Huntington's Disease on August 19, 2015, in his Oak Park, Illinois home surrounded by his immediate family.

Arnoldo is survived by his wife Lylliam Jiron, and his three children: daughter Juliet Brava, son Arnoldo J. Jiron, and daughter Carolina J. Fenske, all of Oak Park. He is preceded in death by his father, Arnoldo Jiron, of Leon, Nicaragua; and his mother, Yolanda Jiron (Toruño), of Leon, Nicaragua.

Arnoldo was born on January 11, 1946 in Leon, Nicaragua. He graduated from National Autonomous University of Nicaragua in 1969 with a medical degree. In 1971, he moved to the Southside of Chicago, and then to Oak Park in 1977. Arnoldo dedicated his career to helping those with mental struggles. After a private practice, Arnoldo worked for those in the state without access to proper mental health assistance, working long hours to make sure they were helped until he was no longer able to work.

Arnoldo Jiron was a great family man and a loving father. He married Lylliam Soza in 1966 and the couple had three children together. He was social and loved to go to events with friends and family. He enjoyed travel, sports, and the arts, especially film. His family and friends will always remember him as a generous, thoughtful person.
