In loving memory of Hope Lewis

Thank you for your faith in me, Professor Lewis. We miss you. Rest in peace!

I did not spend as many years with Hope as many of my colleagues, so I don't have many memories to share. But I will say that with a single e-mail, written during a time that she did not come into the law school, she conveyed such positive energy, warmth, and conviction that she helped me moved forward. She was truly extraordinary, and I know that she will be missed by many.

One of the most phenomenal professors, it was truly an honor to be her research assistant and to read her fabulous textbook.

I served with Hope on the Board of the ACLU of Massachusetts, where her wisdom and clear vision shaped so much of my thinking. The inspiration she leaves will always be a treasure.

I had my first conversation about law teaching with Hope Lewis. She inspired me to teach and speak truth to power. I light this candle in your memory.

A terrible loss for the Northeastern community and beyond. We will miss you Hope.
