We can’t believe we are standing here saying goodbye
Our time together seemed to pass so quickly

Dad had been sick for several years and we have shed many tears
You were a brave man fighting till the end

But he had more than his share of hurt and God called him home
So he gave his hand to God and slowly drifted away
We know he’s like new and is resting now in God’s hand

So if we could bring him back we wouldn’t
Because what God has waiting for him
Is much more than we could ever offer

Dad take your wings and fly
To eternal happiness and your reward
Knowing that we are at peace

Our love remains unfailing
As you remain forever in our hearts until that day we meet again

CROSSING THE BAR

Sunset and evening star.
And one clear call for me!

And may there be no moaning of the bar,
When I put out to sea.

But such a tide as moving seems asleep
Too full for sound and foam.

When that which drew from out the boundless deep
Turns again home.

Twilight and evening bell,
And after that the dark!

And may there be no sadness of farewell,
When I embark;

For though from out our bourne of Time and Place
The flood may bear me for

I hope to see my Pilot face to face
When I have crossing to bar.
