TRIBUTE FROM FRANCEEN KHATIAKALA MARIA ONGAI

From: Felix Shikoli Monday, February 22, 2016
This strong african woman, my beloved grandmum Vonica Bulinji Shikoli.i lack words to explain how dear she was to me.
This i write with a very heavy heart because the pain i feel is too much to bear.
Her being widowed for fourty plus years, she mantained her dignity and strength to push on with life.I knew her since i was born always close to her all the time.I loved her more than my own biological mother.
I always loved spending time with her, since my childhood.I loved her stories ,encouragement and motivation.she meant everything to me.
I always loved sleeping by her side despite her snoring when she was in her deep sleep.every time I woke up in the middle of the night,i always found her holding her rosary praying.
Kukhu would never leave me behind ,i remember spending with her countless nights in funerals then we go back home in the morning. When i grew up i had to leave her and atleast get something to do.she always called me when she missed me or when she wanted airtime in her fone.
Last time i calledst recovered from an ailment.i have never felt such a joy when she recovered .she wanted some meat because thats what she loved.
I realy dont care about her age to me she was like my twin sister and her death has realy hurt me beyond what i can explain. we shared alot come late next year. i realy wanted her to witness my graduation and much more celebrations but unfortunately shes no more.
The word of GOD says our thoughts are not his thoughts and our ways are not our ways. Lord with all humility im greatful for the years I have been with her. Kukhu hachi ngorwa
I WILL MISS U SO SO MUCH.
BLESSED ARE THOSE WHO SLEEP IN THE LORD,THEY SHAL
BE RESSURECTED ON THE LAST DAY.
REST REST REST IN PEACE KUKHU

UKILALA SALAMA KUKHU
MWAMI AKHUHE SHIHULUKHU SHI MIIKA CHIOSI MWIKULU.

A tribute to my treasured Grandma:

This is a post that is difficult for me to write...

Recently, I lost my beloved grandmother who passed away on 21st Feb 2016 while receiving treatment at Mukumu Mission Hospital i will miss her terribly.

She was one special lady and the loss of her is felt deeply by many, even though she lived a full life. For the past few months, she bravely fought through illness. And seeing her suffer in those last hours was extremely difficult.

The love of a grandma is unique. God must have given grandmothers to us to liven up our lives, to make our lives more complete, to make us well rounded and better human beings. She played a big part in my childhood as she took complete care of me since i was nine(9) months old until now.I can remember so many times sitting in her kitchen and tasting the dishes, she prepare with special love. She taught me a lot about love and the meaning of family.. She has never been just ‘my grandmother’, but my guardian, my friend and my inspiration.

Still, we can’t believe my lovely Grandma was taken away from us . We will miss our Grandmother, but her spirit and strength, lives on in each of us and in the lives that she touched. She lives on in me and in all those who have been touched by the love, strength, conviction, wisdom, and beauty of her soul.

Love you grandma – You truly were a special, special woman! You may have passed on, but your memories would always live on within us. Thank you for your sacrifices, your care and concern, your love and everything that you have done for me. Wherever you are, I know you are in a much better place. I will be forever grateful and thankful that you are my ‘grandmother’.

Rest in Peace Grandmother...we will never forget you and
we will always love you forever...

Felix John Shikoli
