Current Memories

From: Diane Dalton Tuesday, October 24, 2017
I will always remember Andy as the darling, chubby-cheeked little baby and girl, always trying to keep up with her big sisters and she did. Of course, they loved her and brought her to my house to play with my two little sisters, Mamie and Janie. I was the big sister, the babysitter and I loved them all. I loved how your Mom would dress you all up in such darling Christmas dresses and put glitter in your hair and you would come over to show us. My Mom and I both delighted in the little Yambor kids. She thought you were the cutest and loved in that you were Janie and Mamie's friends. She said you reminded her of "Liddle Kiddles." I'm glad that Andy had all those happy years. Love to all you Yambors, Diane Dalton This poem has helped me through loss. I hope you find comfort in it. DEATH IS NOTHING AT ALL Poem by Henry Scott Holland Death is nothing at all. I have only slipped away to the next room. I am I and you are you. Whatever we were to each other, That, we still are. Call me by my old familiar name. Speak to me in the easy way which you always used. Put no difference into your tone. Wear no forced air of solemnity or sorrow. Laugh as we always laughed at all the little jokes we enjoyed together. Play, smile, think of me. Pray for me. Let my name be ever the household word that it always was. Let it be spoken without effect. Without the trace of a shadow on it. Life means all that it ever meant. It is the same that it ever was. There is absolute unbroken continuity. Why should I be out of mind because I am out of sight? I am but waiting for you. For an interval. Somewhere. Very near. Just around the corner. All is well. Nothing is past; nothing is lost. One brief moment and all will be as it was before only better, infinitely happier and forever we will be one together.

Have you lost a loved one?
