One of my first memories of my father in law is from the week I married his son. I come from a large family. 10 siblings and lots of extended family. Most people (including my husband) are overwhelmed when they first meet my family. Not Alan! He knew no strangers. He just sat back and smiled, chatted with everyone, and was perfectly at ease. I remember watching him and being impressed with the way he handled it.
He had a great laugh and sense of humor.
Wish we had a little more time!
