Eddie David was a lot of things a soccer player, a husband, a father, and a grandfather. one thing my grandfather taught me was patience. in mornings before school when i was little we used to walk on this little path near a canal and a farm, we used to bring either carrots or bread, we used to stand right next to the fence that stopped the farm and started the path and just wait until one of the horses would come and eat, and once one of the horses would come all of their friends would follow... because i was a little kid i would get very impatient very quick. but in due time i was taught to become more patient even though things could get very boring or very annoying and i will forever be grateful for that

I will miss my father in-law, Eddie. He was a wonderful Christian man who cared deeply for his family and enjoyed life. Although I knew him later in life when he retired from soccer, I was always impressed how everyone seemed to know him where ever we went. He was an amazing storyteller and through his stories, I got to know him as the great soccer player and how he earned the title Coach Eddie. He will also be remembered for how much he's done for the community and for the children learning to play soccer. I have an Eddie David Soccer Camp t-shirt in my closet right now and I wear it on the weekends. I got to see him at his camps at Roosevelt school. It was wonderful to see him coaching and teaching the children and how he involved the family. He was also a very thoughtful person who would bring Mary and I a rose from the garden when I would come to visit. I will remember him as a joyful person and a loving father.

Dear Mary, my precious sister Sylvia and family, Our hearts are sadden by Eddie’s passing. I know that he will be greatly missed by so many. His love for Jesus and a testimony of God’s grace. A witness of Gods love for his family and friends. We didn’t have the pleasure of spending much time with Eddie but the reflection of Eddie is displayed in his wife and children. A gentle and kind spirit was he. I’ll always remember the song he sang to me on my birthday “ Jesus love me this I know” with such love and gentleness on his face. We will meet again and what a glorious day that will be. Our love and prayers Randy and Linda

I will always remember Eddie as a very humble man who loved to laugh. What some people don't know about him is that he was a very talented story teller. Many people have told me that they were transfixed by the stories of his life. From the belly of an old freezing Soviet Air Force cargo plane with a broken window to the crab fishermen on the sunny beaches of Vietnam, he had many fascinating tales. He had a special friendship with my step-dad, Marvin. They both new Morse code as Eddie worked as an air traffic controller as a young boy! They would often be at the dinner table tapping out messages to each other as our meal bounced to their amusement. I will always miss you, Eddie.
