This memorial was created in honor of Marvin Tatman of Trotwood, Ohio. Marvin was born on October 20, 1937 and passed on January 5, 2018. Marvin was loved by many and will be dearly missed by all friends and family.


Services will be held Friday January 12, 2018 at Mount Olivet Church of God in Christ. Visitation 11:00am service begins at 12:00pm. Final Disposition West Memory Gardens.

MARVIN TATMAN, SR. , a happy , cheerful, fun-loving
and interesting person, peacefully went home to be with the
Lord, January 5, 2018 at Friendship Village at the age of 80.
He was known to have an adventurous spirit and loved to
travel. He was born October 20, 1937 to the late Milton
and Cornelia Tatman in Lexington, Kentucky.

Marvin confessed Christ at an early age and joined Pleasant
Green Baptist Church under the pastorate of Rev. Thomas H.
Peoples, Jr. He attended school in Lexington, KY. Marvin
earned an undergraduate degree from Paducah College in
Paducah, Kentucky.

He married Bettye Jean Tatman in 1982 and was devoted, loving
and caring toward her and her family. After 27 years of service,
he retired in 1992 as an expeditor for IMB in Charlotte, North Carolina.

He leaves to celebrate his life and cherish his memory a devoted
wife, Bettye Jean; six children: Marvin Tatman Jr. (Dinah) of
St. Louis, MO; Nathan Tatman (Gwen) of Atlanta, GA; Adrian Tatman of Lexington, KY; Jacquetta Coleman (Korey) of
Charlotte, NC; Bettrena Farris (Rodney) of Charlotte, NC; Kenyatta Kendrick of Dayton; a brother, Milton E. Tatman, Jr. of Atlanta, GA, an aunt, Dorothy Beviel of Chicago, IL; devoted cousins:
MelissaTatman, Beanche White of Chicaqo, IL; Marian Stokes
of Cincinnati, OH; Donald Tatman of Lexington, KY, as well
as a host of other relatives and friends.
