Tanya Mobley, of Dayton, Ohio passed away on Thursday, October 27, 2016. Born September 18, 1962 in Dayton, Ohio, she was the daughter of Troy (Jennifer) Smith and the late Phyllis Jean Hooks. She is survived by her daughter, Tanice (Demsas) Reddae, of Columbus, Ohio, two sons, Darryl Clay and Jalen Clay of Englewood, Ohio; two sisters, Tamara (Lynwood) Washington, of Trotwood, Ohio, and Natasha Smith of Columbus, Ohio; brothers Joseph (Tammy) Smith, of Trotwood, Ohio, and Jason Smith of Westchester, New York; best friend, Melissa Hosbrook of Trotwood, Ohio; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends. Tanya, affectionately known as “Tuffy”, was a resident of Englewood, Ohio. She graduated from Trotwood-Madison Senior High School, where she served as a “Rockette” in the marching band, and lead singer in the school choir. After graduating, she worked in the secretarial field, as well as in law enforcement. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, reading, exploring outdoors, taking care of pets, and singing. She always made sure that her children set goals and worked to achieve them. Quitting anything was never an option, and education was of the utmost importance to her. Tanya will be remembered most for being tough and feisty, but also for her kind and giving spirit.
