Lula Frances (Stephens) Williams passed away peacefully at Hospice on Saturday, January 28, 2017.
She was born on May 18. 1925 in Dayton, OH to Richard O. Stephens, Sr and Eunice Allen Stephens. Graduated from Dunbar High School in 1943. Then attended Wilberforce University in 1944. She was baptized in Oct 1943 at the age of 18 by Rev. Earnest L. Harris at Shiloh Baptist Church. She ushered over 60 years and was corresondent secretary for the Golden Agers. At one time she was the Official Church Historian.
Preceded in death by her parents Richard O Stephens, Sr and Eunice E. Stephens; spouse, Hardy D. Williams; son, Gary Williams, brothers Richard O. Stephens, Jr and Earl U. Stephens.
Survivors include her loving daughter, Norma J Boykin and her devoted son, Carl D. Williams, Sr; Grandchildren - Carl Williams, Jr, Derrick Williams, Nalesa M. Boykin, Anthony Boykin, Jr and Vanesha R. Williams. Great Grands - YazLynne Williams, Anthony Boykin III, Derrick Williams, Jr, Journi Houston and London Boykin. Also a host of nieces, nephews and cousins Robert Turner, Sr, Charles Etta Simmons (Winchester, KY), William Traylor and Cynthia (Dallas, TX); Melba Joyce Walker (Shreveport, LA) Life long friend Shirley Corbett of Zanesville, OH; Neighborhood friends - Mrs Combs, Tyrone Harris, Ronnie and Ricky Redd.
