Mr. George S. Sewell, Jr. transitioned to heaven May 2, 2017. Preceded in death by his loving parents, George S. Sewell, Sr. and Mary Louise Sewell, Mr. Sewell is survived by his lifetime partner, friend and devoted companion, Ronald E. Lander, his loving and devoted sisters, Gail Sewell-Puller and Carol Crawford (Lionel), his special nephew whom he loved dearly, Bryan A. Puller, Sr. (Mollie), his numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Mr. Sewell graduated from Roosevelt High School class of 1960 as a four year honor student. He attended the Ohio State University and received his Baccalaureate Degree in Education from the University of Dayton. He earned his Master’s Degree in Education and Administration from Wright State University. Mr. Sewell was a very proud, dedicated, professional high school and college educator. He always said with pride, “I attempted to teach all of my students everything that I had learned.” Mr. Sewell’s love for St. Margaret’s Episcopal Church was seen by his many devoted activities with the church. He served as a Vestry Member, Junior Warden, Choir Member and Member of the Brotherhood of St. Andrew. Mr. Sewell’s life will be celebrated with a requiem Mass at St. Margaret’s Episcopal Church, 5301 Free Pike, Wednesday, May 10, 2017. Viewing will begin and family will receive friends at 10:00am with the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00am, Father Benjamin E. K. Speare-Hardy, II officiating.
