Mr. Rodney M. Mickens (Ronnie) was born January 9, 1960 to the late Moses and Josephine Mickens in Pontiac, Mi. Rodney departed this life on September 6, 2016 at Hospice of Dayton after a very short illness. Ronnie accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior.
He is preceded in death by his parents, brother Robert James Mickens and sister Sharon Mickens Thomas.
Ronnie leaves to cherish his memories stepmother Laura Sue Mickens of Guntersville, Ala, one son Mickey Burns, one daughter Emma Snell, two brothers Moses Mickens Jr. (Sarita) of Louisville, Ky. and Richard L. Mickens, and one sister Idella Mickens Luster (Harold) of Pontiac, Mi., Ex Wife Teresa Walker, special cousins Carmen Jackson (Skip), Anthony (Pooka), Keisha, Angela, April, Shawn Edwards, special friends Mr. & Mrs. John Day and Dulcinea Fritz, grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives and many friends.
Ronnie received His GED and BA Degree in Psychology (Cum- laude). His passions were writing, singing and playing music. He enjoyed family time and believing that he was the World’s Greatest Handyman.
