I met AJ last year at Road America and we instantly bonded and were together every waking moment. He taught me alot on and off the track and was a wonderful mentor. When I learned of AJ's passing, I was in total shock and was in a funk for over a week. After going out to Road America this past weekend, every turn I made, every time I went under the Sargento, Speedville or Johnsonville bridge, I remembered all the things he would tell me and remind me of - he was one of a kind and really cared about people. I will miss him and all the other things I could have learned from him too. It was an honor to have known AJ and I only wish I could have met you sooner. My deepest sympathy goes out to all his family as well. RIP my friend and hope you know that we miss you and always will. You will always be with me in spirit at RA as well as at the Autobahn.

We knew AJ for a few years from driving with LAPS, where he was an instructor. He was never our instructor, but when he heard about the DIY garage we started he was fully on board. We really got to know him after he started coming to help at our shop daily. With his vast experience working on European cars, he helped with a very unique Maserati that we had been a bit stuck on. He took clear pride in helping us by spreading the word of our new business and helping us organize our shop. We were looking forward to going to driving events with him, learning about ice racing and getting instruction over the summer in our Porsche from a fellow enthusiast. We just went to our first track event of this season and I like to think he was still there in spirit cheering on all of the drivers.

I'll never forget all of the childhood memories running back and forth between the pool and hot tub at Uncle Tony's house and meeting him at Aurelio's pizza for dinner around the holidays. One of my favorite memories of Uncle Tony was when he came over to our house one year on Christmas Day, and we all sat around our kitchen table for hours sharing stories and lots of belly laughs. Uncle Tony always took an interest in whatever it was we were passionate about and had a way of making you feel like you were picking up right where you had left off. Uncle Tony, you will always have a special place in our hearts. You will be greatly missed.

Uncle Tony was welcoming, outgoing and friendly. He always had advice or a story to share and could make conversation with anyone. Some of my favorite childhood memories were swimming at Uncle Tony's house and jumping off the diving board to see who could make the biggest splash. I'm pretty sure Uncle Tony usually won that competition. More recently, we enjoyed learning about new healthy recipes that Uncle Tony was trying. We will always love, remember, and miss you, Uncle Tony.
