4/16/1968 - 5/25/2017

Location: Stanwood, Washington

This memorial was created in honor of Christopher "Sven" Lawrence Gittens of Stanwood, Washington. Chris was born on April 16, 1968 in La Mesa, California and passed away on May 25, 2017. Chris was loved by many and will be dearly missed by his family and many friends. If you were a friend of Chris' you were a friend for life.

Although we all love Chris and miss him terribly he wouldn't us to be sad. He loved to make others laugh and his smile was contagious. Chris was incredibly bright, funny, caring, and generous. He often helped others and didn't want anything but your friendship in return.

This memorial site Never-Gone is free, has no space limits for posts, pictures, and videos. It can stay up forever for generations to share and cherish. We can add more stories as we remember them and sign up for email alerts as new tributes are added.

We lost a son, brother, nephew, uncle & dear friend but gained a guardian angel.

Chilli Friendships As many of us know Chris loved his chilli - the hotter, the better. He used to make Rob and I chili when he was in the Navy, stationed in Long Beach. Can you believe back then it was actually mild enough for this MN girl to eat?! It was a major production to make and Chris didn't want any help. I might have cut the tomatoes wrong (Mr perfection lol!) He made layers of Fritos, lettuce, tomatoes, meat, cheese, and I'd have sour cream. Chris HATTED sour cream. I can hear him say now Ewww! Gross! Over the years Chris' chili got hotter and hotter after he discovered ghost peppers. The more he told me about making it the more thankful I was that I had it when it was still mild! Chris loved to share his chilli with friends. We used to talk once a week on our way to work in WA & MN. One day I waited as he went through drive thru. He ordered his usual fruity fru fru $5 drink and I could hear him flirting with a girl.(Imagine that lol.) I heard her thank him and he told me afterwards he'd been telling her for weeks about his chilli and brought her some to try!

Have you lost a loved one?
