We met Diana through our dear Nadine in 2012 on the night of the NMHS scholarship awards and then became FB friends a few years later after we kept seeing each other post on Nadine's FB page. Shortly after connecting, we met for lunch and had a wonderful visit. I think of Diana every time we pass by that restaurant. Diana had created a scholarship to honor her dear husband Don. Our Nadine won that scholarship and the description Diana gave of her search for the right candidate was so touching. Diana continued to support Nadine emotionally, helped pay for Nadine's books several times and she drove long and hard to meet us in Illinois for Nadine's graduation. It turns out that we had lots in common with Diana besides our love for Nadine: we were both interested in Frank Lloyd Wright and we had both toured many of the same homes as well as trying several times to coordinate our schedules to meet at our FLW home in Iowa - we were still working on that goal around both of our extensive travel schedules - another love we both shared; we had also both been to visit the Galapagos Islands and loved that adventure; we loved music and learning and whenever I saw something I thought Diana would be interested in, I'd contact her by text or FB messenger. She joined us for a lovely jazz concert and tried to meet for the historic talk about "The Antler Motel". I recently contacted a birding friend that wrote a wonderful book about his Big Year. I'd suggested he do lectures at the local libraries about his experiences and book and I immediately knew that Diana would be the one that I'd coordinate with to attend together. Diana made a beautiful quilt for Nadine's graduation. We picked it up from her lovely home on our way to graduation. Nadine and her husband are now expecting their first child. Diana and I had already connected about the new baby boy and she'd already heard the wonderful news (from Nadine) and had started planning a baby quilt when we last communicated at the beginning of the year. Baby boy is due in late July and I'll miss sending Diana photos when he arrives. We loved meeting you Diana and loved following your fun adventures and the joy you shared when getting together with your loved ones. Blessings and love to your family during this challenging time.
