I remember one time Frankie and I had a disagreement. She was going to AA at the time. She stomped out of the house and proclaimed that she was going to get drunk. I prayed that God would take care of her which He did. She met a person walking and they told her that she should not go get something to drink which she thought was weird. She went to the store and the man there was in AA and started doing a 12 step on her. Everywhere she went they were all trying to get her to not buy a drink. she finally came home sober and disgusted. She stomped into the bed and demanded to know if I had been praying. I said I said yes why? She told this story of no matter where she went someone from AA was there talking her out of it.

Frankie was a bit sadistic if you got drunk, lol. She would wake me up and ask me how I was feeling and then shove this horrible concoction under my nose that would make want to throw up. It was beer, hot sauce and I am not sure what all else was in it but it was horrible stuff and tasted just as bad. She insisted that it would help. I Honestly do not know if it actually helped or if she secretly enjoyed the faces i made at the stuff and the excuses i would make to try to get out of taking it. However once she got done with her morning ritual of pestering you with that horrible stuff she was pretty nice and would make some menudo. I loved her menudo and I miss it and her home made flour tortilla's. She was a great cook and very caring if you were sick.

Frankie was in the military as a nurse. The one she told me was of a Vietnamese woman handing her a baby that was ill she handed it to her friend and went to take of another person that was in more serious condition. A few minutes later she said that the baby blew up. Her friend died. That was the only story she told of being in the military. She did not talk much of her time there.
