My family and I have so many fond memories of Greta and her family! Greta was such a sweet person. She was so many wonderful things, but I will always remember her smile, her laughter, her kind and caring ways! I will remember the times we would spend the night at each other's houses, being scared at her house at night because it was in the woods, running around my neighboirhood playing whatever our imaginations could dream up, and how mad she got when my Dad sold his racecar. I also remember the deal we made with Konrad, Greta's Dad, when she and I had plans on her spending the night at my house. I still wondering if that guy rigged the drawing so we could have that sleepover! Greta you were so much fun and I will miss you with all my heart! I know you are an angel in heaven now! Say hello to my Dad for me!

A dear friend of mine told me a story today that her 5 y/o who had never met Greta, told her. though she seen in lying lying in her casket. She said " that doesn't look like "the lady" (she didn't relly even know her name) that is playing with Jesus. She looks like the lady in the pictures, she is playing with Jesus I seen her. So tell "those girls" to just close their eyes and go to sleep and they will see her playing with Jesus. She is happy mommy. Just tell them that all they have to do is go to sleep and they will see her and they can play with her" . This gave me chills. And I wanted to share with all who loved Greta.

I will never forget how Greta volunteered to help when my brother "Tiny" was at home in hospice care. She became close to my mom and dad then and continued to spend time with them. Her bright smile and caring ways filled a hole left in their hearts. Even after my mom recently passed away, she continued to bring the girls and visit my dad. She was truly a wonderful, caring person--a great wife, mother, daughter, and friend. While heaven will be brighter for her presence, she will be sorely missed by all of those left behind on earth. My deepest sympathies go especially to Dan, Mariah, and Hannah.

I just can't believe this... I saw Greta just a couple of weeks ago in Walmart and said hello, but I was in a hurry to get my daughter's prescription... Now I really feel bad that I should have taken more time to ask how things were going and how Danny & the girls were. Greta, you are going to be truly missed by many of people and everyone is right, you had a smile that would cheer anyone up... Danny you have mine and Chris's sympathy and if you and the girls need anything please ask.....

I have so many memories of Greta! I met her in 3rd grade and through grade school and most of Jr.High we were inseparable. I was either spending the night at her house or she was at mine. We used to play in her barn and at my house we would play and dress up our dolls. In high school we didn't hang out as much and when I met my husband he was attending college in Belleville and he kept talking about "Greta said this, Greta did that" and I said "you know that's weird, there aren't a lot of people named Greta around here and while growing up my best friend was named Great Kloos" he said "WOW, that's her!" so we reconnected! Then we worked for a year on our high school class reunion and we talked several times a week and sometimes several times a day. I am grateful I got to spend all these years knowing an amazing, loving, funny, and wonderful woman. We will meet again, save me a seat in Heaven :)

I met Greta when she first joined the National Guard when she was still in her teens. She was full of life and humor. She made my time in the military so much better just knowing her. There are great stories and memories including helping her move (never did find the litter scoop) and Tabasco tinged coffee. She will be greatly missed. My condolences to Danny and the girls.

Many, many things come to mind as I think of Greta. One of the best memories I have with her and Dan is when Greta gave birth to Hannah in my living room. I was lucky enough to be there for the birth of both of Greta's girls. And I was lucky enough to have Greta as a dear friend in my life!
