Jerome "Saint" was my husband, Lilburn (Bub) Dawson's, lifelong friend. They were like brothers growing up in Evanston. He was my dear friend in Los Angeles, and continued to be a friend through our family's 25 years in Europe. His visits and our trip together to Portugal in 1980 are fond memories. Jerome always called to see how we were doing when we returned to the States, and he checked in with me during Lilburn's long battle with Lewy body dementia on a regular basis. It was always good to hear his voice. I regret that I had not spoken with him since our move to VA and Lilburn's passing. As others have noted, Jerome was a special man and will be missed. I hope that Jerome and Bub have had a wonderful reunion - probably listening to jazz while playing dominoes or pinochle or just shooting the breeze.
