The Life of Jeffrey Horton
Jeffery Lamar Horton was born on July 22,1961 in Cincinnati, Ohio to Robert B. Horton & Katherine (Jones) Horton. He was the fourth of of ten children. Jeffrey (affectionately known as Bubbles or Bubs) was baptized at an early age at Union Baptist Church in Cincinnati. As an adult he became a member of New Prospect Baptist Church of Cincinnati where he also provided maintenance and cleaning services.
Jeffrey graduated from Woodward High School in 1980 where he was a popular student who actively participated in football, basketball, and baseball. After graduation Jeffrey became a surgical technician at Bethesda Oak Hospital. He relocated to California in the late 1990's and started "Precis Cleaning Service" for a period of time. He was known for having a keen eye for detail and prided himself in cleaning his surroundings with precision.
Jeffrey was an avid lover of music and enjoyed such artist as Sade, Al Jarreau, Kirk Franklin, and Sugar Hill Gang to name a few. He also had a love for gardening and landscaping and was known to have a "green thumb". He was never afraid of hard work.
On November 30th, 2016 Jeffrey was called home to be with our Lord and Savior. He loved his family dearly and was warm and inviting to everyone that he met. His bright smile, loving heart, compassion, strength, and take charge mentality will be greatly missed.
He was preceded in death by his mother & father. He leaves to cherish his memory: daughters Alicia Autry and Alexius Samuels .Grandchildren Madysen & Mason Autry, siblings Stephanie Gallaher (Garry), Steven Horton, Jennifer Cureton(Michael Sr.), Rodney Horton, Vanessa (Roosevelt) Cash, Valerie Horton, Robert (Machelle) Horton, Shawn Horton, Shawncey (Tamara) Horton and, longtime companion Theresa Samuels, and host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
