Burnes W. Rock, 70 of Irving, Texas passed away on June 16, 2017 at Baylor Irving from congestive heart failure.
Rock was born November 9, 1946 in Merced, California to Patty and Jim Rock. He was a firefighter for 11 years with the Mesquite Fire Department and spent 38 years at Central Freight lines where he received multiple service & safe driving awards. Rock was an avid golfer and also enjoyed watching the Dallas Cowboys and Texas Rangers. He was a member of the American Legion Post 231. Street tacos from Harry Hines and Miller Lite were his favorite to consume.
He is survived by his wife, Beth Rock; 5 children; 9 grandchildren; lots of nieces and nephews and friends from all walks of life, he never met a stranger.
Extended parts of his family were his coworkers from Central Freight Line, American Legion, Mesquite Fire Department and bar buddies.
A service for Rock will be held on Saturday, June 24, 2017 at the Aria Cremation Service & Funeral Home chapel in Irving, Texas at 3:00 pm.
Family will be receiving friends and family starting at 2:00 pm.
A reception will be held after the service at Po’ Melvins, 4070 N Belt Line Road #100, Irving, Texas. 972.255.3919. www.pomelvins.com
