In loving memory of Leon Troutman

Leon Vernon Troutman 79, of Chicago, passed away peacefully at home, April 2, 2018. Leon was born February 15, 1939 to the late Andrew “Doc” and Amanda Neal “Tiny” Troutman. Leon has spent over 25 amazing years with the love of his life Anita (Johnson). Leon is survived by his son, Leon (Teri) Miller of South Bend, IN; son Wesley Troutman of Atlanta, GA, and step-daughter, Ayeshia (Jamaal) Garrett of Chicago, IL; step-son Rashad Johnson and six grandchildren, Jeromy Miller, who preceded him in death, Courtney, Jacob Ratkay, Roland Miller, Samiyah M, Zeliah-Free W. Garrett and one great-grandson, Bryant Wiley. Leon was an avid bowler who enjoyed traveling to tournaments across the United States. He enjoyed traveling and would think nothing of driving to another state for breakfast. Leon was a United States Army Veteran, and a community leader. He was a gentle soul with simple tastes and unfailing good humor. For him, his own discomfort was no excuse for failing to show kindness and respect to everyone he met. His favorite saying was “whatever suits you, tickles me to death.” Leon will be greatly missed …until we meet him again.

Family, I wanted to address the word that is repeated on the guestbook. I am aware that it is offensive. I would like to explain that we are working on having it removed by the administrator. I would like to assure you that it was written by a loved one who was attempting to sign but was unfamiliar with the computer. This person typed wrong letters and when they attempted to correct it accidentally hit enter. Each time they tried to go back in to correct it, it posted again. They called Leon absolutely mortified, and we are working on deleting it.

Dear Leon and Teri,Jesus taught that someday "all those in the memorial tombs" will be resurrected. (John 5:28) Jehovah is the Creator of all life. Should it be hard to believe that he can re-create life? Of course, much would depend on Jehovah's memory. Can he remember our dead loved ones? Countless trillions of stars fill the universe, yet God knows the name of each one! (Isaiah 40:26) So Jehovah God can remember our dead loved ones in every detail, and he is ready to restore them to life.

Death is the hardest thing we have to deal with in life. I know words can do little to take away the pain you are feeling, so may the God of comfort be with your family, helping you to cope. I have found free and comforting information on www.jw.org. I hope it can prove to be a source of solace to you as well. (2 Thessalonians 2:16, 17 and Psalms 147:3)
