Jerry's sons, Ken and Keith, offered a selfless gift of their own liver, (believing that one of them might be a match) if there had been any way to save Jerry's life. What an amazing tribute of forgiveness and love from two wonderful young men.
May Jerry rest in peace.

Dear Marsha, I am so sorry to learn about Jerry's passing. He was my mentor who shaped me over the years in the WVU. I owe him a lot for what I have become professionally. I was not very good in keeping in touch after I moved on to overseas assignments. Jerry will always stay in my thoughts. Paavo

I just wanted to leave my condolences and a comforting scripture. John 5:28 reads- 'Do not marvel at this, because the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out." This speaks of a resurrection of our dead loved ones. I know you don't know me but you and the family will be in my prayers. When you have a chance, please visit www.jw.org for more comforting information that really help me during the passing of my mother.

Words are so limited, Marsha. You and Jerry were so endearing and inviting when I first arrived ~7 years ago. We conferred on items of interest to me such as research ethics and you both were so curious and supportive. In turn I thoroughly enjoyed hearing Jerry and you speak on subjects near and dear to you. And Jerry was so at ease in this complex and often forbidding world. A true humanist in my eyes, accepting and thoughtful. You are in my heart and mind with endearment and support. Warmly, Dan

Dear Marsha,
My deepest sympathy at Jerry's passing. You had such a wonderful life together. I will never forget meeting you both in Jackson and his insisting you go yarn shopping with Sarah and I. You are in my thoughts.
