In loving memory of GuruofDiablo Unity

This memorial was created in honor of GuruofDiablo "GuruofDiablo" Unity of Sanctuary, International. GuruofDiablo was born on January 1, 1958 and passed on August 16, 2015. GuruofDiablo was loved by many and will be dearly missed by all friends and family.

Guru was the leader of Phoenix of Unity and Hydra of Unity Clans in the realm of Diablo 3. He also served as the officer of Unity League Community, an independent gaming community of close to 3000 members from around the world. He was a highly respected and treasured member of our family. Guru's passing is a tremendous loss to all of us as a community.

Guru truly cared about our clans and clan mates very much. He lead both clans and our community with unparalleled compassion, dedication and enthusiasm. He went far and beyond to ensure we, as the best D3 community, always uphold the Unity Values of fellowship, teamwork, dignity, respect and helpfulness. Thanks to his leadership and mentorship, both Phoenix and Hydra Unity Clans emerged stronger and more accomplished than ever before.

Guru had a strong natural sense of justice and responsibility. Guru stopped at nothing to battle against injustice, dishonest behaviors and anything that would undermine his beloved community. He inspired clan mates to always do the right thing in the Unity way. Guru deeply cared about fellow members with sicknesses or disadvantages. With him, nobody is left behind. Guru, why must you leave us now?

Last time we had a chat Guru was excited about HOU and POU performing well, and he was looking forward to playing Season 4 and being able to have fun with clan mates finally. A routine finish with "peace g man" and "be good s" turns to be our final interaction on this earth. It's so hard to believe or accept that Guru is no longer with us.

Even toward the final hour, Guru had our community's welfare in mind, and managed to ask his daughter to take care of clan matters.

Guru, wish you rest in heavenly peace without any worry. Unity will always remember you. We will never forget you, dear friend. We will carry on your will and memories.

Please keep Guru's family in your thoughts and prayers.

When a family loses a loved one here on earth they gain an angel in Heaven that watches over them. My condolence to his family and friends. Now his soul is resting in Heaven and he is with our Lord. R.I.P Guru

I am so sad to hear about Guru's passing. My Condolences to his family. He truly was a great man and had time for everyone in his Clan I had given up on Clans in D3. They all seemed to be the same. Nothing beyond only wanting the very best game players and not the very pest people. Guru was very different. I played in a random Public game with Guru about 3 months ago. I was clan-less at the time and had no intentions of joining another clan. Guru seemed like such a caring patient person but I still originally said "No" when he asked me to join his clan. We did a few more runs together and I liked him even more. He asked me if I was ok with some playing suggestions. That was the first time someone ever asked rather than just telling me what to do. I realized then that I liked this person very much. I joined Unity and had the chance to speak with Guru many times on Team Speak. I am so glad to have known him if only for a very short time. The world will miss you very much Guru. I wish I had a chance to know you in real life as I am sure we would have been great friends

Guru, even though I've been in Unity for a short amount of time, you've taught me a lot of things. You have always encouraged me to strive for the best. You're just as a passionate Diablo 3 player as I am. RIP, my clan mate. Heaven has gained another angel.

Thank you Guru for all that you have done. Phoenix and Hydra would not exist without you. I myself and the rest of us will try to carry on your legacy in Hydra/Phoenix. It will never be the same without you. | Return. If. Possible

My condolences to Bob's family... and thank you Emily for letting us know. I was pretty new to Unity but always felt comfortable because of Guru and the vibe he has created in Phoenix of Unity. How he always wanted us to help each other and work together to reach higher as a clan. Guru was someone I looked up too and Ive learned a lot from him.... I miss you Guru... Heaven gained an angel.

I didn't know Guru as well as many others, for I was only in POU for a short time. But I could tell how much of a caring and thoughtful leader he was. He was also very forgiving. I left his POU clan for a different Unity clan without giving him prior notice, but instead of being angry with me, he said that I was always welcome back. Thank you for being the first to welcome me to the Unity community, Guru. Rest in Peace. HYL

Guru, I'm missing you already brother. A great man. He taught much about business during our gaming sessions of Diablo that I feel I almost don't even need to attend university anymore. Truly a fearless leader and so kind hearted. I wish you and your family the best. You're in our hearts and prayers. See you on the other side my friend <3

Unity has a new meaning for me today, you were the most unselfish person I have ever met always thinking about the needs of everyone else, even having two accounts so you could further enrollment of Unity w/out progressing your own. And we never minded hearing about that Kridershot that you couldn't use on your main account. You are in my heart and prayers from Denver go to all the family and friends that loved you like we did. To our fearless leader rest in peace and we'll kick Diablos ass soon...
